We love it here, you will too!
We found a gem in Harry Lake back in 2015. Our dream was to turn it into a fly-in fishing lodge we could share with others who would love an appreciate it as much as ourselves. With the completion of the modern three bedroom guesthouse we built new in 2016, we are thrilled we can now do so.
Harry Lake Lodge was initially built as a corporate retreat and never operated as a commercial fishing lodge. As a result, it offers modern luxuries not found anywhere else and supports a very healthy fishery. We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to share this special place with our clients.
Meet Al and Mary
Al hails from Northern Minnesota and spends his winters as a charter captain running his business, Snook One Charters, in Fort Myers Florida. In the summer you can find him busy fishing and guiding either in Northern Ontario or Minnesota. Al has his International Captain’s license and has been in the fishing business for 30 plus years. He has owned and operated Snook One Charters for fourteen years. Al is also quite the chef and can make a shore lunch like no other. Nothing beats the mouth-watering sizzle of freshly-caught pan-fried fish cooked to perfection by Captain Al.
Mary is an experienced outdoor woman, born and raised in Northwestern Ontario. She holds a Safe Food Handling certificate and has taken Culinary Skills at George Brown College in Toronto. An excellent cook and avid baker, she takes pride is the food that she serves.
Our Guiding Principles
- Great fishing and good food in a luxurious setting
Our goal is to provide anglers with great fishing opportunities on a beautiful secluded lake, while staying in clean, modern accommodations, and dining on fresh, creative food. We pride ourselves in being a full-service, modern-day alternative to the old-fashioned fishing camp.
- Clean and Pristine
We are committed to keeping Harry Lake clean and pristine to ensure that not only our guests have unspoiled wilderness, but so that those who come after us can also enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
- Fish Conservation
Having an abundance and variety of fish is critical to maintaining a viable fishing business; therefore, we encourage our guests to use conservation licenses.
- Catch and Release
To ensure that our guests have an opportunity to catch “the big one”, we encourage catch-and- release and do not allow trophy fish or breeding stock to kept.
- Rules and Regulations
Guests are required to follow Ontario’s fishing rules and regulations to keep our fishery healthy and sustainable. We will ensure that anglers are aware of the laws and requirements governing fishing in Ontario.
